Great for:Family

There is a carrom board by the window at Kaavu and a Jenga tower on most tables, and by the time our mains arrived the family beside us had a full tournament running. That single decision changes the whole room: nobody is rushing children, nobody is checking a phone. The staff clearly work here rather than pass through — the same server handled us start to finish and remembered, unprompted, that one of us had asked for no chilli.

Bombay chicken tikka Pulao
Signature Dish

Bombay chicken tikka Pulao

4.5

Served in the tawa it was finished in, still spitting slightly at the edges, with the char from the griddle sitting on top of the rice. The tikka has been marinated long enough to stay soft through the second cook — no dry corners, which is the usual failure with tawa pulao. Spice is warm rather than sharp, built on garam masala and burnt onion instead of heat. It looks like nothing on the plate: brown rice, brown chicken, one lime wedge. It eats like a very good home kitchen, and the portion fed two of us.
