The lift opens onto exactly the rooftop you were hoping for — string lights, plants along the parapet, Koramangala glowing underneath. Then you sit down. Our table still had rings from the previous group, one of the two menus was missing pages, and it took three attempts over 20 minutes to place an order. The plants are dusty up close. Almost everything wrong with Sky Garden happens after you're seated, which is the worst place for it to happen.
Crispy Chilli Corn
2.0Good. Just good, and I want to be fair about that, because it was the only thing that evening that worked. The kernels were fresh and still had a snap, the batter stayed crisp on the way up from the kitchen, and it disappeared off the plate between four of us. But the chilli is a suggestion rather than a flavour, there's no acid anywhere to lift it, and forty minutes later I couldn't have told you what I'd eaten.
