Hole in the Wall

Indiranagar, Bangalore

Last reviewed: September 2025

Great for:Casual Dining

Twelve tables, mismatched chairs, a chalkboard that hasn't been rewritten in a while, and a queue outside from 9am on a Sunday. Hole in the Wall has earned its reputation on breakfast, and the room is genuinely charming — sunlight through the front window, plants in the corner, conversation loud enough to be comfortable. The gap is at the pass: we waited 35 minutes for food after ordering, and nobody checked in once.

The Chicken Whole 9 Yards Hash
Signature Dish

The Chicken Whole 9 Yards Hash

2.8

The two poached eggs on top are the best thing on this plate — pierced with a fork and the yolk ran straight through the potatoes the way it should. The hash underneath is generous and the potato edges are properly crisped. The chicken is the problem: shredded, dry at the edges, and seasoned so lightly it reads as texture rather than flavour. I ended up eating around it, which is a strange thing to do with a dish named after the chicken.

Would I Return?

No

No. The room is lovely and the eggs are genuinely good, but two visits' worth of waiting for a table this size isn't a trade I'd make again.
